Postcard from Charlie

Here's the postcard I received on Friday. I love daffodils so this is perfect. Thanks Charlie. I am working on several postcards now so hopefully I'll get those done today and sent out tomorrow. I'll post them soon.

Second Postcard Received

Here's my second postcard from the exchange. Such fun getting mail now. This one is from Rosalyn Clem from North Carolina. It's a patriotic theme. The Statue of Liberty stitching is amazing. Thanks Rosie!

My first postcard received all the way from Western Australia!

Look at this beautiful postcard I received from Marg Waters. It is gorgeous and I keep looking at it trying to figure out how she did all the layers. The photo doesn't do it justice. Thanks Marg!

Postcards Part Two

This is my favorite one. It's rust dyed fabric, hand stitched and beads hand stitched with monofilament line. It's not as orange as the photo shows it to be.

This postcard is made with commercial fabrics and machine and hand stitched.

More Postcards

This one is made with commercial fabrics and machine stitched. I used FME on a dissolvable to make the skeleton leaf. I then stitched it to the postcard.

This one is made with two different fabrics that I rust dyed and then machine stitched.

I made two postcards like this one. They were machine needle felted, then wet felted using hand dyed wool and silk fibers. I then machine stitched them.

Felted and Stitched Postcard

Another postcard completed! This one is needle felted on the machine, then wet felted, then stitched and needle felted some more, then stitched and stitched and stiched - it seemed like forever. But it looks good finished although a little wonky on the edges. Now I've got to figure out whether to send them "naked" in the mail.

Postcard Exchange

I have joined a postcard exchange group on www.art2mail.com and I'm in group #36. We have three months to complete 20 postcards and this is my first. It's base is a commercial grayish/green fabric that I rust dyed, then added another commercial fabric with FME and some FME gold circles. I made 5 more of the rust dyed backgrounds so you'll see more of those soon.

Here's some detail of the gold FME. I'm a newbie to FME but I'm really enjoying it and I think it turned out OK.

Autumn Tree

At last, I completed my tree. I felted the frame and then made the leaves with FME on Solvy. My friend Barb suggested the curved branch to hang it with and I think it all goes together well.

Another needle felted postcard

Front and back of a needle felted postcard I did on the Xpressions machine. I kind of like the back and hate to cover it up.

Birthday Card for Dennis

Here's the birthday card I made for Dennis.
A bit wrinkly in places but he liked it.

Here's Brunhilda finally finished. She's got high heel shoes and a necklace.
